The room was oddly shaped, not just a flat but a webbed pentagon; more so because the floor had been polished beyond glowing with its engravings, and the furniture had been moved to allow the most amount of floor space possible.

That was understandable, once you realized that this was the Ancient Runes classroom, and that the floor was covered in circular carvings that seemed to glow like pooling fire once someone entered the room.

Low laying seats had been installed along the perimeter of the room, no more than a foot off the ground, covered in rich burgundy cloth. Linked shelves lined the walls above the seats at least six feet from the floor, and already they bore crystals, texts, and the ever present odds and ends of a professor who is a master of their craft. One wall bore a hearth that was sided by two wrought iron rampant gryphon, with a fire that eerily flickered as if it were intelligent. Almost opposite to the hearth, the wall furthest from it mawed open with a window of glass that had been tinted with a glittering filament, and was decorated with crystal clusters hung from silver and gold wire to capture the eased light.

At the head of the room there were only three pieces of furniture: a desk, a chair, and a blackboard. The desk was massive, wrought from a dark red wood and gold filigree. It bore the marks of fire and ash, of labor and long-ago completed puzzles, it's lion feet flexing every now and then around their spheres. On each end stood two sets of phoenix bookends that held several books upright and proud. It held nothing more save for a flask of blood red ink and a raven quill.

The chair was something to behold, for it was not the customary professor's seat, rigid and upright, but a dark red recliner that looked well worn and comfortable. Along it's upholstery were odd markings that weren't quite visible at first glance, but presented themselves to those that didn't dwell on them too long.

Then there was the blackboard. It was a simple thing, put on wheels so that the professor could move it about the room if needed, and at first glance it was blank. Only when a student entered the room far enough would it awaken as if from sleep, and present the wandering with words in a glittering ink that acted like fire.

Vazzen had been away from her classroom for some time, and as no classes were in session, felt no urge to be where she was not needed. Oro, on the other hand, felt that there might be some need of a set of eyes and ears in the Ancient Runes classroom, and remained behind.

To any onlooker, he would have gone unnoticed as nothing more than a statue wrought from pure gold and citrine jewels. As he moved, lifting his serpentine head from it's resting place along the coils of his body, he caught movement. It was no more than a whisper of the classroom door opening, but a severe shock at the knowledge of who it was that emerged from the hallway outside.

Oro sent a mental shove to his mistress, and beckoned her with an urgency that bordered no refusal.

The door to the classroom sits slightly agar as a man comes stumbling through the door. His balance obviously already off, he trips over the corner of rooms floor seating. Landing face first on the ruin covered floor, he doesn't move with the slight exception of his hand holding onto a rather extravagant flask. The flask had two Phoenix's, one on either side that at times changed posses. His hand twitched, then brought the flask to his head as he rolled onto his side. Taking a drink, he slowly got back up and braced himself against the wall before looking around to see where he was. As he looked around he started to lean forward to the point that he fell over again, this time onto the padded seats.
His hand never let go of that flask that had his drink in it.

The second that Oro sent a plea her way, Vazzen dropped everything she was doing at the d'Coeur manor and closed her eyes. The floor beneath her opened up with spiraling runes or orange and red and with a fissure of preassure, was gone from the building.

Light illumated the classroom as the runes along its floor glittered with light and shadow, and in the blink of an eye she was present in the room that had been almost empty moments before.

Her eyes lit around the room as she searched for the disturbence that had caused the ever-silent Oro to verbalize his needs. She found her desk untouched, her floor pristine, and her seating...

...occupied.

Her eyes took in the drunkard, and she almost winced at the thoughts and memories that the riff-raff conjured up. It was then that she caught sight of the Duo Phoenix flask, and she gasped. She had given such a flask to her older brother just a few months before he had dissappeared and left her alone in the world.

It couldn't be.

She sniffed the air, and caught the smell of Liquor. A tear slipped from her eye as she took a second look at the man that she hadn't seen in many years; but before her sentamental side got the better of her, she let her Fiery side do it's job first.

"LIQUOR!?"

The hand that held the flask shoot up straight, his body following. His eyes hardly open the flask went to his mouth as he fell back, now leaning against the wall. His eyes traveled up the metal and looked at the women before him.

"....." His eyes became wide as his memory slobbered him up. The memory of his little sister flooded his head for a second. She had changed her looks but it was definitely her that stood almost over him. He slowly stood up, the body of the slowly slobbering man wobbled a bit as all of his weight was put on his feet.

"Vazen?" his voice was quite and trailed off in question.

The man before her shot up from his seat the second the words left her mouth. Her temper flared, her brother was drunk again. Not that it was a big surprise. He had always been somewhat buzzed every day of her life...before he left her on her own. The fire raced along her skin as she stared at him.

"Don't!" she threw a hand up to still his stumbling. "You have no right to be here any longer. Liquor," his name was said with an undercurrent of plea "you left me alone. You just up and left with no word, no goodbyes, and no sign that you were even alive. I buried you long ago, and I made my peace with the fact that you were no longer in my life."

She sighed. Her eyes glimmered before she closed them. What was she to do? The brother that she had thought dead for many years now was back in her life, in her classroom no less. Thats
's when her eyes flew open, the glare more suspicious than welcoming.

"What are you doing at Hogwarts?"

Liquor extended his hand meeting hers after stepping forward slightly. As his hand meet hers his skin too became a lite with flame, however his own. He hadn't felt her around him in years and for the elder it was almost an affectionate and nostalgic hug.

Taking his hand from hers his flame slowly dissipated, he stat himself on the padded benches slowly and carefully. His head held down after Vazzen spoke of him leaving her. He took another swig from his flask," Yes, I left you. I just couldn't bring myself to come back that night. I wish I had."

Taking another long drink from the phoenix crested flask. His voice had held a tone of regret far deeper then he showed. She moved on as to why the drunkard was even in the Castle school of Hogwarts.

"I got a letter from an owl. It was dated a couple months before i got it but, the letter asked me to come here. After is got here there was a dinner and a job waiting," his voice slurred a little every now and then as he spoke.

She looked at him, her mind reeling. So he has a position here, hmm? Her mind went through all of the available positions that had not yet been filled when she arrived. It seemed that he could quite possibly be one of those men, but then again, many of the things that he said under the inflection of his namesake.

By this point, she could hardly care what it was that had brought him to this place. All that mattered to her was that he was here, alive, and not completely drunk.

She smiled. Her eyes ran up to the shelve on which Oro lay perched. Her eyes went soft, and she called to him with a small, almost unheard hum. When her flowed from the books to her neck, she sighed, and sported a grin to her brother.

"Say, would you happen to be partial to serpents?"
